Description
The Advanced Google reCAPTCHA (WP Captcha) plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to CAPTCHA Bypass in versions 1.13 up to, and including, 5.40. The plugin decided whether a login request was a REST API request from a client-supplied 'rest_route' query parameter, and for such requests it skipped its login CAPTCHA check and its failed-login lockout. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to add a 'rest_route' parameter to the WordPress login request and submit login attempts without solving the CAPTCHA, defeating the brute-force protection the site owner enabled.
