Description
The Presto Player plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via player block attributes such as chapter titles and overlay text in versions 4.0.0 up to, and including, 4.5.2 due to insufficient output escaping: the player data is JSON-encoded without hex-escaping flags before being passed to esc_attr(), which does not double-encode existing HTML entities, so entity-encoded markup that survives input sanitization is decoded by the browser and then rendered as HTML by the player's front-end scripts. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
