Description
The PublishPress Permissions plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions 3.6 up to, and including, 4.8.4. The Edit Permissions screen ran the 'Fix Sub-Permissions' action whenever the 'pp_fix_child_exceptions' request parameter was present, without nonce validation and before any capability check. The WP_DEBUG condition only controlled whether the link was displayed, not whether the action ran. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to make the plugin re-apply existing parent-item Specific Permissions to sub-items through a forged request, provided they can trick a site administrator into clicking a link or visiting a malicious page.
