Description
The Optimole plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the media attachment replace feature in versions 4.0.0 up to, and including, 4.2.14. The cause is that replacement files uploaded through the optml_replace_file AJAX action were moved over the original file without the SVG sanitization the plugin applies to regular uploads. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with author-level access and above to replace an SVG attachment they can edit with one containing malicious scripts. Those scripts execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.
