Description
The GPTranslate plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via translated image alt and title attributes and image, iframe and video src/srcset attributes in all versions up to, and including, 2.34.11. The public REST endpoint /wp-json/gptranslate/v1/request accepts the 'storetranslations' task from any visitor, because its API secret and wp_rest nonce are printed into every front-end page, and the plugin only stripped HTML tags from the stored values, which leaves quote characters intact. When server-side translations and the image alt (or src) translation options are enabled, the regex (default), SimpleHTMLDOM and str_ireplace replacement methods wrote these values into HTML attributes without esc_attr(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to break out of the attribute and inject arbitrary web scripts in translated pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
