Description
The UiChemy plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG files imported by the Composer in versions 5.1.0 up to, and including, 5.2.2. When section HTML is inserted through the front-end editor REST endpoint (/wp-json/uichemy/v1/frontend/insert), the plugin downloads the remote images it references into the Media Library. It accepts SVG files after only a regex-based sanitizer, which misses namespace-prefixed script elements and entity-encoded javascript: URLs in SMIL animation attributes. The dedicated upload endpoint requires unfiltered_html for SVGs, but this import path has no such check. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to store SVG files containing arbitrary web scripts on the site, which execute whenever a user accesses the uploaded file.
