Description

The UiChemy plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Composer section code (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) in versions 5.1.0 up to, and including, 5.2.2. The front-end editor REST endpoints (/wp-json/uichemy/v1/frontend/section and /frontend/insert) store the submitted code verbatim, without checking whether the user has the unfiltered_html capability, and the section renderer outputs it unescaped (JavaScript inside a script tag, CSS inside a style tag). In the free version every role with edit_posts may use the Composer by default. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts into posts they can edit, which execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
