Description

The Sensei LMS plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data in all versions up to, and including, 4.26.3. The sensei_complete_lesson function, hooked to 'wp', acted on the submitted 'quiz_action' for the requested lesson after only a nonce check. That nonce is per user, not per lesson. The function did not check course enrollment, lesson view permission or lesson prerequisites. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to mark lessons complete, or reset their own lesson and quiz progress, in courses they are not enrolled in, and to skip prerequisite lessons.
