Description

The User Profiles, Groups and Communities plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 6.0.0.2. This is due to missing nonce validation on the edit_profile, upload_image and remove_image handlers of the front-end profile page (public/partials/profile-magic-profile.php), while the profile update also wrote a submitted user_email value through wp_update_user without re-verification. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to change the email address of a logged-in user who belongs to a ProfileGrid group and then reset that user's password to take over the account, or to clear arbitrary user meta on the victim's account, via a forged request granted they can trick the user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.
