Description
The UsersWP plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to an Email Verification Bypass in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.74. This is due to the unconfirmed_login_redirect function, hooked to wp_login, not invalidating the session created for a user whose email address is not yet confirmed. It calls wp_destroy_current_session(), which reads the session token from $_COOKIE and so leaves the token issued during that same login valid on the server, and only clears the cookie afterwards in the same response; when no UsersWP login page is configured it skips the logout entirely. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers, on sites that require email activation for registrations with a user-chosen password, to register with an email address they do not control, log in, and keep a valid authenticated session as that unconfirmed account.
